A brief description
Discover the Moroccan Sahara on an affordable 3-day tour from Marrakech and explore the beautiful landscapes of the Dades Gorge, Kasbahs and Ouarzazate. Cross the dunes of Erg Chebbi by camel and spend the night in a Bedouin camp in the desert.
Day 1: Marrakech - Ait-Ben-Haddou - Tinghir
Leave early from your hotel in Marrakech and cross the High Atlas and many Berber villages in order to arrive at Ait-ben-Haddou, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, famous for its kasbahs and fortifications, filming location for big Hollywood studio movies and a background that is perfect for photo shootings of fashion magazines. After exploring the village and also the kasbahs, have a nice lunch at a traditional restaurant and continue on the road to Ouarzazate, also famous for being the gateway to the Moroccan big desert and Boumalne Dades while admiring the amazing view along the road to Tinghir, where you can enjoy dinner and stopover for the night.
Day 2: Tinghir - Gorges du Todgha - Merzouga
After breakfast, you drive to the beautiful Todgha Gorge in order to relax and explore the canyons and have lunch at a café. Then you continue to Merzouga and go with the camel caravan. Discover the dunes of Erg Chebbi by camel and enjoy the view of the color change of the sand at sunset. You will be at your camp before dark and have your Moroccan dinner in open air. Spend a great evening with the nomads who will show you how to play tom-tom.
Day 3: Merzouga - Ouarzazate - Marrakech
After a morning awakening to watch the sunrise before breakfast, a driver will be waiting to pick you up for the way back to Marrakech. You will stop on the way to lunch in Ouarzazate. Enjoy a luxurious night in the Bedouin camp in case you really want to. Opt for luxury night in a five-star private tent with suite, shower and bathroom. This option must be reserved for each person wishing to benefit from it.
